The Best of Donna Summer

Download

Donna Summer, was an American singer-songwriter who gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s. She was a five-time Grammy Award winner. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the U.S. Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a 13-month period.
Summer died on May 17, 2012. She died that morning at her home in Key West, Florida at age 63. She had been diagnosed with cancer.
In the 1980s, Summer became a born-again Christian. At the time, she attracted controversy when she was accused of making anti-gay comments about the Aids epidemic that was raging at the time. She denied making the remarks but was nonetheless subjected to a boycott which affected sales and her career.
The woman who became know as The Queen of Disco.

The Best of Natalie Browne

Download

Natalie Browne is a vocalist for the infamous Almighty Records who recorded some of the most uplifting tracks to hit dancefloors in years.
The vocalist to record under the Natalie Browne name for Almighty is in fact called Juliette Jaimes who has also recorded tracks for artists such as Abbacadabra, Who's That Girl! and Almighty Showgirls.
Recording tracks mainly in the late 90's early 00's, it was 1998 when Almighty managed to ship more copies than expected of their version of the Natalie Imbruglia cover of Torn in the United States. The Imbruglia track was never released in the US as a physical single which led to the confusion and Almighty gaining the sales.
Natalie made a brief reprisal in 2010 with a cover of the British Eurovision entry That Sounds Good To Me originally by Josh Dubovie which was written by Pete Waterman, Mike Stock and Steve Crosby. The track also featured on the Almighty double album 'We Love Stock, Aitken, Waterman.' Released alongside this track was Once, a cover of the Diana Vickers song as well as All The Lovers, originally by Kylie, this time under the Almighty Showgirls guise.
In true Almighty style, the tracks featured in the mix are high-octane, uplifting and guaranteed to get your hands in the air.

Back to the 90's

Download

A blast from the past featuring some of my favourite commercial dance tracks from the 90s.
Dance music of the day was structured someone different than it is nowadays. Today most extended dance mixes contain an introduction of 32 measures making it easier to mix, but the tracks here are disjointed, of varied speeds and and incredibly hard to get beat match. It took a lot of effort to blend the tracks with lots of looping and hot cue-ing. I even had to get Captain Planet in to help me at times (not really!).

In the end, it works really well and I've been enjoying listening to this for the past few days.
The latter half of the mix becomes more anthemic (as I get more and more drunk).

Hit Mix - May 2012

Download

Featuring the best dance tracks and remixes to hit the charts, this mix is probably one of the best on the Hit Mix series to date. With sampling and fluid mixing, it really is an ultimate dance party.
Call Me Maybe, the track that shot straight to the number 1 spot by American singer Carly Rae Jepsen is included with a special mix from Almighty which, at the time of this going live, is not available anywhere. The Almighty Extended Mix has not been released by the label, so you really did hear it here first - and what a mix it is.
As well as the new track from The Wanted with a killer mix from Steve Pitron and Max Sanna (who did a smashing mix of Cammnder by Kelly Rowland) I have also included the new WAWA mix of Can't Say No by Connor Maynard who is tipped to be the UK's version of Justin Beiber.
7th Heaven once again return with their mix of Summer of Love by Cascada which is almost guaranteed to be a  hit in the next few months.
X Factor UK judge Tulisa has a mix of her track We Are Young by The Alias which is a personal favourite of mine at the moment. The Alias remix team are also known as Jewels and Stone (famed for their mixes for Almighty under the guise Mary Brazzle).
As well as Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Emile Sande I have also included the new Scissor Sisters track... and many more...
I really like this mix and I hope you do too!
