Manchester Pride 2016 – In The Mix

Commercial House and Pop Remixes in a DJ Mix-Set

Commercial House and Pop Remixes in a DJ Mix-SetThe Commercial Collection.

This edition of The Mr Blue Lips Podcast is packed with pumping House Anthems and Mash-Up’s. It’s uplifting and unashamably commercial. Huge charting dance floor fillers and the biggest commissioned remixes.

Once a year Manchester plays host to the UK’s biggest Pride event centred around the infamous Canal Street in the city’s Gay Village.

There’s a couple of tracks featured for good measure, including ‘What The World Needs Now Is Love’ by Broadway For Orlando in memory of those killed in Pulse Nightclub earlier this year. Another being ‘Proud’ by Heather Small just because… you should always be that, proud, no matter who you are, whatever you are.

Sometimes dubbed the San Francisco of England, Manchester is the location of the original Queer as Folk TV show and more recently, the world-wide television hit, Cucumber.

This years event looks set to be the biggest ever. The main stage is one of the biggest attractions with big name acts performing. This year sees the likes of Will YoungTulisa, Fleur EastSophie Ellis BextorHeather SmallKaren HardingKaty BFrankmussik and more – all of which are featured in this bumper megamix.

I sometimes wonder why I keep going back.

What, come back to this? The ghetto: alleyways stinking of piss, beggars in every doorway, straights and students coming to look at the freak show, and all the idiots saving all week, saving their stupid money from their stupid idiot jobs so they can come and shoot their load with some stranger. And just you look after it, this stupid little street. It’s the middle of the world. Cos on a street like this, every single night, anyone can meet anyone. And every single night, someone meets someone.
